CHUCK

I do believe that God has put it on my heart to pray for Chuck's knee. Will you all please join me.

Heavenly Father, Creator of the human body; Brother Jesus, Master Healer; Holy Spirit, who breathes new life into believers,

I hold Chuck up to you this evening. Please lay your hand on his knee, Jesus, and heal every part of it. Remove the cause of the pain and swelling and replace it with total mobility and strength. With pain comes discouragement, so breathe new life into Chuck's spirit and don't allow the discouragement to abide there any more! Speak to Chuck through your Holy Spirit, Lord. If he is to be mobile, nudge him into activity. If he is to rest, nudge him with a reminder that you created his body and you will heal it - but he needs to co-operate by resting. Use this "down" time to draw Chuck even closer to you, Father. Let his relationship with You deepen and grow. Free Chuck of any concerns he might have through this time, take his mind off of any worry and lead him into focusing on you and all that you have for him. Fill Chuck with a peace that surpasses all understanding and bless him again and again. Bless Deedle as she helps Chuck through this time. I pray in Jesus name.

Thank you Jesus for what you are about to do for Chuck.

Thank you, Sharon, for this prayer. We will all pray along with you. There is so much power in the prayers of a righteous man/woman! And wherever two or more are gathered in your name, there you are in the midst of them. and Whatsoever we ask in the name of Jesus will be granted. We all agree with this powerful prayer. Dear Jesus, we thank you for Chuck, and for Deedle, too. And we thank you for the awesome way you are going to touch their lives and heal his knee. Thank you, Jesus!

He walked over here today and visited me a while, then walked to Physical Therapy, and then walked home (unless Deedle picked him up at the PT). That's a lot of walking. He's doing pretty good. His knee didn't look so swollen, and wasn't red. Keep praying. He needs to get better - and soon! We are all going to Fuddruckers for dinner to celebrate his birthday tomorrow at 5:00. Is he 44 tomorrow? I can never remember. How old am I?

Well, I am older than dirt, Lonnie, and you are at least two years older than me, so what does that compute out to be? I'm not sure. I always used to say :Age is just a number" but I no longer say that. Now I say "Screw the Golden Years!"

Boy - you got that right, Sharon! Actually, I think Chuck might be 45? Debbie knows. How old is he, Debbie? I figured out how old I am, believe it or not. Actually, this is an easy age to remember because I was born in 1937 and it's 2007! Who can guess the right # first?

Are you one hundred and eight?

I watched Arianna today. I was sitting at the table with her doing playdough things and she said "You are good and --- skinny." I said "Huh? I am good and skinny?" "Well, yes. It is mean to say 'you are fat.'" I tried to stiffle my laughter, and she kept saying "What? What? My Mom told me I can't tell people they're fat!" Oh my.

Wrong answer, Sharon! I'm not 108! You lose.

You truly are good and kind and fun to be around and all the things a grandchild would love to be around! And a sister, too! This is such a great story. I laughed outloud. At least Arianna learned the lesson her mom was teaching her - right?

Chuck came over today. He stopped here on his walk. He is doing quite good! He had his PT yesterday and that guy really takes him through the mill and back again. He gets to start going only 2 times a week now instead of 3 times. But - could help me with a prayer? Pray for Notre Dame to win a game! Please! Because Chuck has decided he's letting his hair and beard grow until they win a game. He's looking pretty ratty right now. So, I'm praying for Notre Dame to win a game! He was wearing the shirt you gave him for his birthday, Kay. It is such a nice one, and he loves it! He made me go walking around the block with him when he left here. It took a lot coaxing, but I'm glad I did it. I was beat by the time I got home, but I decided I'll do that everyday. He's a lot of fun. Thanks for praying for him. He needs some more.

Notre Dame won! And he did get his hair cut! Good news. Thanks for the prayers!
