Hi everyone. It's been awhile since I've been able to be here. I've missed you. Hope you missed me, too.
I felt like this scripture was something we all needed to hear at this time. God is speaking to us:
It is from ECCLESIASTICUS 2: 6-13, 23 . . . .
Trust Him and He will uphold you, follow a straight path and hope in Him.
You who fear the Lord, trust Him, and you will not be baulked of your reward.
You who fear the Lord hope for good things, for everlasting happiness and mercy.
Look at the generations of old and see: who ever trusted in the Lord and was put to shame?
Or who ever feared him steadfastly and was left forsaken?
Or who ever called out to Him and was ignored?
For the Lord is compassionate and merciful,
He forgives sins, and saves in days of distress.
Let us fall into the hands of the Lord, not into the hands of men;
for as His majesty is, so too is His mercy.
In my footnotes it explains -The 'Fear of the Lord' no longer implies physical fear in presence of God's terrifying power, but rather reverence and devoted obedience.
So, this scripture means that He will help us if we trust him, follow His word and hope in Him.
It means if we reverence the Lord and obey his commandments, then we can hope for good things, for everlasting happiness and mercy. If we reverence Him and obey Him He will never forsake us. He will see to it that we are never put to shame. Call out to Him and He will not ignore you. He is merciful, He forgives sins and saves in days of distress, Look at the generations before us who called upon His name.

I believe this wholeheartedly. Thank you for the post.
Me too! Sometimes it's very hard to be obedient and reverent, but I do know that if I stay in prayer and scripture, it is better and very rewarding! I've seen amazing things happen because I reverenced and obeyed the Lord!
For instance:
When Brian was about 10, we went up to the mountains to go camping. We also took Brian's friend, Jean Savajeau, and his cousin, Adam Kimmet. No room at the campground (Moose Creek), so we went up the road and found a beautiful, perfect spot right by the creek. That was in the days when we tent camped. We got all set up and the boys and Dad all went fishing. I say in my chair with my bible and enjoyed a peaceful time with the Lord. I kept looking at the sky though and it looked like a bad storm was on it's way - from every direction. I prayed "Oh Lord, please don't let it rain. What will I do with 3 boys and my big boy if it's all wet and rainy and muddy? Please, no rain!" It didn't rain. I was very happy and content sitting there reading, when they all came back. Brian said "See, I told you that blue spot was right where Mom was praying for no rain. See, it didn't rain here." Phil said "come with me, I want to show you something". We walked about a half a block and everything was puddles and wet and mud! It did rain everywhere except where we were. And it stayed that way until we went home, too! They had fun fishing and playing right where we were - under the blue sky.
Anybody else have a story of how God has worked something out for you? It is fun to hear the stories.
I love that story, Mom! God hears the prayers of the righteous!
Obeying the Lord sounds like such an easy thing to do. After all, it's only three little words! Obeying the 10 commandments is pretty cut and dry - it's the Great Commandment - "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind" that is difficult. And the next one - "Love your neighbor as yourself".
I can't think of a story right now, but I'm sure there is one! If it comes to me I will be back!
