Live according to the true faith in Christ, not according to false teaching

Warning!!!!  There are many, many false teachers and prophets in our world.  Learn discernment.  Is this person following scripture?  Or is their teaching and prophecy of their own or earthly life and ideas?  Observe and listen carefully!  A rule of thumb:  If it's not in the bible, then it's not truth!  So know your bible!  Read it daily.  Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you truth.  Ask Him to reveal to you what He wants you to know, hear, do, where to go, etc. today.  Then be quiet and listen for God's answers.  They come in many and various ways.  Ask Him to teach you everything you need to know about Him.  He will!  And remember - The "Gift of discernment" is a supernatural gift of the Holy Spirit.  It is one of the gifts you received when you received THE gift - Jesus, Himself.  Have you opened the gifts?  Or are they just sitting as pretty packages on your table unopened?  Open them - and learn to use these wonderful gifts given to you by God and the Holy Spirit!  (Read 1Corinthians chapter 12:1-11)  If you want to live the Christian Life as we are all called to live it - as Christ lives - then these gifts are very important, in fact, necessary to do that.  The Christian Life is not the easy way.  These gifts are great tools for us to use in our walk of faith.  Especially the gift of discerning where this teaching comes from, who that prophet is - from God, or world?  Also read Romans chapter 12 - all of it, but especially verses 6-8.

Ephesians 6:23 & 24 - "May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ grant peace, love and faith to all of you.  May grace and eternal life be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ".

Thank you for posting again, Mom. I love your teaching!

I agree with what you said about being careful of false teachers. Sometimes I know what I'm hearing is not true, but I'm not sure why. I trust that feeling, and believe it's discernment.

I'm especially leery of anything that mentions God, but not Jesus. That seems to be the acceptable way to go, because believing in God covers many religions and beliefs, but believing Jesus is the Savior and the Son of God limits to Christianity.

My Bible study this year is about Romans. We are almost to chapter 12! Next week, maybe. It'll be interesting to see what I learn about the gifts.

Good sharing, Debbie. You are a good teacher here. I think I've told you before that I believed you had the gift of discernment -and you gave a good example of it here.

Before you get into Chapter 12 of Romans you should go watch the video I have on here (or is it on the Eve's Dropper?) about Asuza revival. It has good teaching on it about the Charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit. It's worth the time, if you can watch it.
