WHO is Jesus?

We studied the bell - "Who am I in Jesus?" Now I think it would be good to answer this question: "Who is Jesus?"

Read Luke Chapter 9, verses 18 through 20. Jesus asked his disciples "Who do you say I am?" Disciples are people who follow Jesus. So, we need to know who it is we follow! Who IS this Jesus? This is a great question to ponder during these days before Easter, Easter, and afterwards. Please share your insights into this very important question.

Jesus Christ is the best friend I have EVER had! He tells me I am His friend in John 15:15 "I no longer call you slaves; now you are my friends, proved by the fact that I have told you everything the Father told me." Then He goes on to tell us that we did not choose Him, HE CHOSE US. WOW!! Think about that. He chose us. Why? I certainly did not deserve to be chosen, but I have been. WOW!! Can I live up to that calling?

Wow, Sharon, WOW is right on! Jesus is everything. He is my comforter. I know that Jesus understands me better than I understand myself. There are no "ifs" with him, either. I don't ever have to worry that I will lose him as a friend ... not ever, with no "if only I do this or don't do that." That's comforting.

JOHN 10:10 I Came that they may have and enjoy LIFE, and have IT in ABUNDANCE, to the FULL, until it OVERFLOWS!!

I am hung up on this verse. It amazes me that God wants more for us than we could ever imagine for ourselves. To have Life in Abundance to the full, until it overflows. WOW. That is what Jesus is to me. The one who gives us LIFE, in ABUNDANCE, to the FULL, until it OVERFLOWS.

To me, Jesus is my best friend, my confidant, I Know beyond any doubt that He walked this earth some 2000 years ago, and is now in heaven and we will someday join him there. He was crucified, died, and shed his blood, like a sacrificial lamb, so that I could be saved from my sinfulness and have the blessed hope of someday seeing Him face to face!

When everyone else rejects you, Christ accepts you. When everyone else leaves you, Christ finds you. When no one else wants you, Christ claims you. When no one else will give you the time of day, Jesus will give you the words of eternity.
