#28 - Self-discipline
"Father, I pray that my children, my grandchildren - family - may acquire a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair" (Prov. 1:3)
Well, self discipline is one of my biggest weaknesses. Especially when it comes to chocolate, ice cream (but not chocolate ice cream - well unless it has some nuts, pretzels, cookies, brownies or just about anything else in it), I love to eat and it shows (ha-ha). Yeah, I sure need a prayer about self-discipline. I have been reading your blog for a long time and really like these daily prayers. Thank you.
The Catholic Church of my youth did things to teach self-discipline (No, they didn't beat us with a rubber hose or anything like that) and I don't know if they still do such a thing, but it was good to learn self-discipline. As a matter of fact, I need a refresher course on self-discipline. There are really tough days coming, and all of our children and grandchildren and US will need to have self-discipline. I pray God will grace us all with a good dose of self-discipline.
