God fights on behalf of His children

Psalm 35:22 and 23 says: "Lord, you have been watching.  Do not keep quiet.  Lord, do not leave me alone.  Wake up!  Come and defend me!  My God and Lord, fight for me!"

As I was praying today about the battles in my life, I had such a revelation of "God fighting on behalf of His children".  I wrote down what He said to me and I know it is for all of us:  (As I wrote, more came and when I re-read it, here is what God said to us):

You feel unsafe and unsure.

You don't like to be alone.

You're frightened, and fear limits the joy you experience in your life.  You feel trapped in a useless and scarey place.  What are you afraid of?  Pain?  Rejection?  Are you afraid of making a mistake?  Of getting hurt?  Of getting a horrible disease?

. . . Did you know I am never afraid, worried, anxious or never driven with terror?  Did you know that your Lord is at peace - always?  Did you know my Spirit - the same as in Me - lives in you?

I have built a wall of protection around you so that the invisible dragons of the night will not harm you . . .

I save you from the troubles and dangers of the daytime.  I am for you.  Who can be against you?

But you worry.

You worry because of past experiences when you were hurt.  You are afraid to be hurt agin.  You are afraid I won't keep my word.  You are afraid I don't care about you.  But I do care.  Every hair on your head is numbered.

. . . See Me surrounding you and keeping you from evil.  See Me bringing you up out of a horrible pit, lifting you gently out of the quicksand of fear and worry.  See yourself completely safe, with your feet upon a rock, established in the ways of God."

Isn't  this encouraging?  Isn't it beautiful?  When you face battles in your life write them in a prayer journal.  Wait on the Lord and watch him fight the battles for you and then record his victory in your journal.  This will build your faith.

I am reading and re-reading the book I gave all of you - "Healing Where You Hurt - On The Inside".  It is so good, and a lot of this word from God written above was what I had heard and read in this book.  Are you reading yours?  I was wondering if you weren't interested in it and did not plan to read it, if you could return it to me.  I could give the book to another person.  But, mostly, I want you to read yours.  I know it can be helpful to each of us.  It's the best book I've read on the subject.

I have my book at work and read a little here and there at lunch. I will get busy with it more now that winter is upon us. It is very good reading, very enlightening, very wise and very comforting.

This is wonderful. Yes, I am reading the book. I read it fast once. Now I am going back through it with a slower pace and more attention. It is a very good book and I appreciate it. I will pass it on to the next Hanson sister that wants it. I love reading your blog. Thank you for sharing your prayers and journals with all of us, me. You are definitely a gift from God in my life. Definitely.

I, too, am reading the book, but haven't read it all the way through yet.
I was trying to think about why I'm afraid, why I worry. Mostly when I stop and think about it I realize that I don't trust God. What a shocking realization. Like He is going to teach me a lesson by punshing me, or, because I have sinned so this is the consequence. So not true, not who God is. His Spirit is alive in me. He is alive in me. Who am I to be afraid?
Do I hear amen!?

Thanks you guys. I am so happy to hear you are reading the book Kay, Debbie, and Mickey. I think it is a super duper good one and can benefit all of us. That's why I gave one to all of you that I gave one to.

Amen, Debbie. That is a great revelation you had. I thought about this and I think I have little trust in God, too! If I truly trusted Him and what He promises, I would have no fear. I would KNOW He is taking care of me and mine and all the situations I get myself into. I'm going to work hard on that. Thanks for sharing that revelation, Debbie.

In the book "Healing Where it Hurts, it says that some fear is natural and necessary. Like a warning system built into us. If we are in danger - such as a rattle snake in our path - fear is a good thing. It says "Warning! Danger ahead!", and we do something about the danger. But, other fears are not of God. Fear can dominate our lives. Fear is one of satan's best tools. It keeps us from doing a lot of the things we are called to do. It robs our joy. It robs our trust. Read Chapter 4 beginning on page 57 in the book.

This was a very appropriate scripture for me during this time of restructuring my life. I am finding out the root of all my medical troubles are nerves. Is this from worry & anxiousness? I know we are not to worry, and yet I struggle with this daily. I too am reading my book and it is very good. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us Mom.

Karen - thanks for your comments. What you say reminds me of what mother always said and what I always said to you kids (and probably what my mother's mother said to her kids, too) "What you give is what you get."

There is a good scripture - and I can't remember where - that says "what is good, what is happy, etc., think on these things". Does anyone remember where that is?
