Verse 9 says: Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that need bit and bridle to curb their spirit (to let you near them).

I don't work with horses or mules, but I have seen movies of them trying to make the horse or mule do what his owner and trainer wants him to do. It takes a lot to just get the bit and bridle on the horse, so he can be led and guided where to go! And the saying "stubborn as a mule", sure does have merit. A mule is stubborn and he won't do anything unless it's his idea! Most of the time I could fall into these categories of the senseless horse and mule. Untamed and stubborn! God tries hard to "tame" us, to instruct us, and show us the way to go. It will hurt while HE is training us. HE knows how to get our attention. Let's listen when He is instructing and teaching and guiding and directing. Life would be a heck of a lot easier for us, because the one who created us and watches over us and advises us knows what we need to do. He's there. Listen and obey!
