Ephesians 1:16-23: (a prayer for you)
"I have never failed to remember you in my prayers and to thank God for you. May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you a spirit of wisdom and perception of what is revealed, to bring you to full knowledge of him. May he enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his call holds for you, what rich glories he has promised the saints (you) will inherit and how infinitely great is the power that he has exercised for us believers."
I copied this prayer right out of Ephesians. It is my prayer for all of you. Could you pray it for me, too?
What I wanted to post here from my Journal is this - read it and see it as a word from God to us! :
"My child, believe on the promises in my word - they are life for you - a life you cannot even begin to know from here on earth. Believe and keep going towards that goal. Never take your eyes off that promise. Believe! It is the only purpose in life here. Keep your eyes on Jesus - He leads the way, you follow! Take a stand against sin around you - even though you will suffer for it. Remember, Jesus died for that sin. Build your faith, and your faith will see you through."
Read Hebrews 12:1-4
In this word from God that I posted above, what do you think He is talking about when He says "never take your eyes off that promise."? And "It is the only purpose in life here."?

This is wonderful Mom. You have always been a prayer angel and I believe so much in the power of prayer because of you. I will pray for you to feel good and happy and peaceful. I love you. And Dad. and all my sibs...
"Never take your eyes off that promise"... my question is - What is the promise of God that you hold on to when times are tough? That may be what He's talking about.
That is why I am so excited to study the promises of God - so that I can rely on God, not another person, or myself.
"it is the only purpose in life here".... means Jesus. In that Hebrews passage, v2 it says "fixing our eyes on Jesus..." We remember what He did on the cross for us, so we could have a personal relationship with Him! That's HUGE!!!!
Also v3 which says to consider the suffering Jesus endured and it will give you encouragement to keep going through your struggles and difficulties. He is there for you.
That's what I think!
Debbie, that is so insightful. I often hear Father Wichert when he speaks of how he prays for the sick and suffering that they might recognize their walk with Jesus through their suffering. That is so powerful and profound.
