Romans 5:6-11
Reconciled to God Through Christ
Suggestion: Read each verse and meditate on it, asking the Lord to tell you what He wants you to hear.

It is because of Christ that I can have a personal relationship with the God of the universe. That is an amazing thought. And that is what's wrong with "spirituality", because if Jesus is not in the equation, then it's some other god that we are relating to.
True. And there are people I have talked to, some in my own family, who are very spiritual. So, I say, "Oh I just love Jesus. He is so amazing in that He loves me, even in my weakness." And I will hear, "Oh, I believe in God, but I don't know about this whole Jesus-thing." It saddens me because it is the broken beaten body of Christ that built my bridge to God. Without Jesus, and the resurrection, there really is no hope. Do you know what I mean?
"While I was still a sinner, God died for me!" That's what is so amazing to me. I didn't have to be good and perfect for Jesus to die for me! I used to believe that I had to get all my messes fixed, my life cleaned up and then I could be worthy for Jesus to come to me. Oh, how wrong I was! He came in, and then HE started cleaning up the messes - one room at a time. I am full of messy rooms, and He is working overtime on my "house". Praise God. Thank you Jesus.
Thank you for posting this, Debbie, and for the comments Debbie and Michelle.
I like what you both say. Jesus IS the bridge. And Jesus IS God - the one and only.
Mickey - I know exactly what you mean... People (well, most people) are comfortable talking about God, but Jesus makes them nervous. Sad. Because Jesus is God, and like you said, Mom, God died for me!
Wow...I don't know anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus...at least I have never been in that conversation with anyone. These postings are fabulous...I am grateful for all of your posts, and insights. Thank you
Debbie, THANK YOU...I LOVE Charles Stanley and haven't heard him in a long time and this is OUtsTANDING
It is what Jesus has done that saves us, yes us sinners; it is because of HIM! Aunt Lonnie, i just went to speak with Father Wichert the other day. He is amazing. I struggle often to believe that YES God has forgiven me....even me. WOW! Father Wichert used to be out there before he became a priest. He said himself it is the human side of us that struggles to come to terms with God's ability to forgive and then to FORGET. He said it took him several years to really come to terms with this. And it is through Christ that this happens. And it is amazing how once you give it to HIM, your life starts to come together in a different way, I personally feel so blessed every day! Wow!
